Why is the Sky Blue?

Image
Why is the Sky Blue?        This is the one of those questions which four year old's ask all the time that what makes the sky blue.To understand that we have to look one thing which makes blue to sky is atmosphere. The atmosphere is mixture of gas molecules, water and dust that surrounding the earth. The light from the sun is scattered by the atmosphere in all direction. The white light that coming from the sun is really made up of all colors of the rainbow.Between all these seven colors blue light scattered more than the red light because of it's shorter wavelength.        Light travel from the sun in the form of wave that similar to the wave of ocean. Some are close together and others are further far. Distance of each same peak of wave is called wavelength. When all the wavelength travel together light looks white to our eyes. If we break the light of sunlight we can see individual colors. Every individual color has equal wavelength. Blue

Why hurricane spin anticlockwise direction(Coriolis effect) ?

Image
Why hurricanes spin anti-clockwise direction ?       In the tropical region due to high intensity of sunlight high temperature and  low pressure is created in the atmospheric air. This air goes to the upper region of atmosphere and empty space is created in this region. To fulfill this space cool air comes from cooled region and collides turbulently which leads to formation of  hurricanes .Hurricanes are one of the worst natural disasters on the planet. They lead to devastating casualties, and take a significant toll on properties each and every year. Counterclockwise hurricanes are tropical storms that form in the northern hemisphere .Storms in southern hemisphere like cyclone rotates clockwise. It has to do with something called the Coriolis effect. The Coriolis effect is a result of earth's rotation. The area around the equator rotates faster than the poles. This causes water and air to curve as they move north or south. In northern hemisphere air moving north curves

How a refrigerator works?

Image
How a refrigerator works?           All of we have seen a refrigerator. Its invention has changed the way we live.Refrigerator has made it possible for everyone to preserve food for days together. But have we wondered that, how a refrigerator works to maintain cold its inside? Lets know that how it works and about its parts.         A thermally insulated component that transfers heat from the inside of the fridge to its external environment so that the inside cooled to a temperature below the room temperature is called refrigerator. It mainly consists of a few key components that play a vital role in refrigeration process.                           1. Compressor                           2. Condenser                           3. Evaporator                           4. Expansion Valve Evaporator:-         It is the part of the refrigerator that is doing actual cooling .It consists the finned tubes ,which absorbs heat from the air blown through a coil

Types of light 🤔

Image
Types of light         I n our entire solar system only sun emits light. Really strong intense light or radiation called electromagnetic radiation or EMR.The radiation is called electromagnetic because it contains both electric and magnetic property. EMR is a large family consisting of seven members known as electromagnetic spectrum. One particular family member which lies in the middle of spectrum falls on earth and which are eye detect are called visible light or visible spectrum. It is so small that if we consider entire electromagnetic spectrum to be around 2500 miles the visible fraction is just 1 inch. It is within this inch that we live world of natural and extraordinary high different color. The other type of electromagnetic radiation are also called light but not visible light. So automatically they are considered as to be invisible light.         Electromagnetic waves are classified according to their frequency. The different types

How ABS works in bike ?

Anti -lock breaking system                Mobility is the one of the majority in modern society.Increasing population causes the ever increase in traffic and road accident also. Road safety has became a critical ratio with uncleared traffic system. A better breaking system can safe life of many people.                Nowadays an anti-lock breaking system is used in almost all modern vehicles. This system prevents accidents like this, where you lose control of the steering as you apply the breaks. With ABS you will be able to steer the vehicle properly and it also reduces the breaking distance. Anti-lock breaking system or ABS is a safety equipment that avoids the locking up of an emergency or panic breaking. With a alarming increase in the number of  casualties in case of two wheeler accidents, the Government of India has made ABS mandatory in all new two wheeler having an engine displacement of 125 cc and above starting April 2018.

Why ambulance have different siren sounds?

Image
Doppler Effect with Ambulance Sound             Lets imagine you are walking with a little crowed road.Suddenly, you hear the distant wail of a siren of an ambulance. The siren of ambulance sounds with a high pitch and louder as it approaches towards you.And when it moves away from you the sound is less pitch. This effect of the sound is due to the Doppler Effect.              Doppler effect refers to the change in wave frequency during the relative motion between a wave source. It was discovered by Christian Johann Doppler. It works on both light and sound objects. For instant, when a sound object moves towards you, the frequency of the sound waves increases, leading to a higher pitch. Conversely, if it moves away from you ,the frequency of the sound waves decreases and the pitch comes down. The drop in pitch of ambulance sirens as they pass and the shift in red light are common examples of the Doppler effect. Other applications of Doppler effect:-  Doppler e

Why Ice floats on Water?

Image
Why ice floats on water?                          As we know solid objects are more denser than liquid objects but ice floats on water. Its amazing things in the nature. Before we know the science behind it,we have to know the word 'density'.Density is the mass divided by volume.Ice floats because it is less dense then the water.Water has a density of 1.0 gm/cubic cm.The density of ice is 0.931 gm/cubic cm.But, why is ice less dense than water  if both are made up of molecules of H2O ?              The reason of ice floats on water is because of hydrogen bond.Hydrogen bond forms between the hydrogen in a water molecule and oxygen in a different water molecule. In water the formed new bonds of molecules try to getting a stable crystal structure.By decreasing temperature of water the molecules apart from each other and increases the inter molecular space resulting the expansion.Therefor the density of ice increases compare to the water. This causes ice float on water.
