How a refrigerator works?

              How a refrigerator works?

All of we have seen a refrigerator. Its invention has changed the way we live.Refrigerator has made it possible for everyone to preserve food for days together. But have we wondered that, how a refrigerator works to maintain cold its inside? Lets know that how it works and about its parts.
A thermally insulated component that transfers heat from the inside of the fridge to its external environment so that the inside cooled to a temperature below the room temperature is called refrigerator.
It mainly consists of a few key components that play a vital role in refrigeration process.
                          1. Compressor
                          2. Condenser
                          3. Evaporator
                          4. Expansion Valve

Evaporator:-

It is the part of the refrigerator that is doing actual cooling .It consists the finned tubes ,which absorbs heat from the air blown through a coil by a fan. Here the refrigerant vaporizes from the heat it absorbs heat in the evaporator.

Compressor:-

It consists of a motor that sucks the refrigerant from evaporator and compresses it in a cylinder to make it hot and high pressure gas.The motor is operated by current supply from the outside.

Condenser:-

A condenser is a device which is use to condense a gaseous substance into a liquid substance through cooling. In this process the latent heat is released by the substance and transferred to the surrounding environment.

Expansion Valves:-

The expansion valve is the regulator through which the refrigerants passes from the high pressure side of the system to the low pressure side. The pressure drop causes the evaporating temperature of the refrigerant to fall below that of the evaporator.
Refrigerants from evaporator moves to compressor in vapor form. And then it goes to condenser with high presser and temperature. By forming into liquid in condenser it goes to expansion valve or throttling valve. After cooling and liquefying it goes to evaporator. This cycle process repeats to cool the refrigerator to maintain below atmospheric temperature.
There are 2 types of refrigeration cycle.
                                 1. Vapor absorption refrigeration cycle
                                 2. Vapor compression refrigeration cycle
